Community Grants

In awarding grants, the St. Joseph’s Community Foundation focuses on programs whose mission and values are compatible with its own. An underlying premise of the foundation’s grant-making philosophy is that any project funded should emphasize service to the economically poor and under-served.

The foundation’s key areas of focus are:   

St. Joseph’s Community Foundation recently awarded a $7,500 grant to North Texas Youth Connection for their STAR program. Angie Burns, STAR Program coordinator, accepts the check from grant committee chairman Jim Bell and Courtney Eudy, SJCF project coordinator. The STAR Program will utilize the grant to provide additional clients in Lamar County with crisis intervention and family counseling.

Funding requests should address key needs in the community. Therefore, applicants should apply for funds that will address the community’s needs in the most effective manner possible.

The foundation also accepts grant applications for education programs that teach public policy initiatives to improve community health.
